Who We Are

This website is an independent consumer information resource covering MEPCO electricity billing, NEPRA tariff policy, and electricity services across South Punjab, Pakistan. It is operated by Sayedah Meh Para Basheer, an SEO specialist and content writer based in Pakistan.

We are not affiliated with MEPCO (Multan Electric Power Company), PITC (Power Information Technology Company), NEPRA (National Electric Power Regulatory Authority), or the Government of Pakistan. We do not generate, store, or process MEPCO billing data. Our bill checker tool directs users to PITC’s official billing database — we do not intercept, copy, or retain any billing information that appears on that portal.

If you need to contact MEPCO directly, their official website is mepco.com.pk and their helpline is 118.

What Information We Collect

Information You Do Not Give Us

When you use our bill checker tool, you enter a 14-digit reference number or 10-digit Customer ID into an input field. This information is passed directly to PITC’s official billing server to retrieve your bill. We do not store, log, or retain your reference number, Customer ID, or any billing information returned from the PITC portal. We do not have access to your name, address, consumption history, or payable amount.

Information Collected Automatically

Like most websites, our server and analytics tools automatically collect certain technical information when you visit:

  • Your IP address
  • Browser type and version
  • Operating system
  • Pages visited and time spent on each page
  • The page you arrived from before visiting our site
  • Device type — desktop, mobile, or tablet
  • General geographic location at country and city level

This information is collected in aggregate and used solely to understand how visitors use the site — which pages are most helpful, where users are located, and how to improve the content. No individual user is identified or profiled from this data.

Cookies

This website uses cookies — small text files stored in your browser — for the following specific purposes:

Cookie Type Purpose Duration
Analytics cookies Track page visits and traffic sources — Google Analytics 26 months
Preference cookies Remember display settings if applicable Session
Functional cookies Ensure the site loads correctly and tools work Session

We do not use cookies to track you across other websites, build advertising profiles, or share your browsing behavior with third parties for commercial purposes.

You can disable cookies at any time through your browser settings. Disabling cookies will not prevent you from using the bill checker or reading any content on this site.

How We Use the Information We Collect

The technical and analytics data we collect is used for three purposes only:

  1. Understanding site usage. Knowing which pages users visit most helps us prioritize which guides to update, which topics need more depth, and which tools are most useful to South Punjab electricity consumers.
  2. Improving content accuracy. High bounce rates on specific pages signal that the content is not answering the question the user came with. We use this feedback to rewrite and improve.
  3. Maintaining site performance. Technical logs help identify errors, broken links, and loading problems before they affect the majority of users.

We do not sell, rent, or share any information we collect with third parties for marketing purposes. We do not use your data to send unsolicited emails, SMS, or notifications.

Third-Party Services

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand site traffic. Google Analytics collects anonymized data about page views, session duration, geographic location, and device type. This data is processed by Google LLC under their own privacy policy, available at policies.google.com/privacy.

Google Analytics does not give us access to personally identifiable information. We have enabled IP anonymization so that full IP addresses are never stored in our analytics account.

Google AdSense (If Applicable)

If this website displays advertisements, these may be served by Google AdSense. Google uses cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google’s Ads Settings at adssettings.google.com.

PITC Bill Portal

Our bill checker tool connects to bill.pitc.com.pk — the official MEPCO billing portal operated by PITC (Power Information Technology Company) under the Government of Pakistan. When you use our checker, your reference number is sent directly to PITC’s server. PITC’s own privacy practices govern how they handle that interaction. We do not sit between you and PITC — we redirect you or query the portal on your behalf without storing the response.

Embedded Content

Pages on this site may include embedded content such as maps or calculator tools. Embedded content behaves exactly as if the visitor had visited the source website directly, and those websites may collect data, use cookies, and track interactions with their embedded content.

Data Retention

We retain anonymized analytics data for up to 26 months, after which it is automatically deleted by Google Analytics. We do not maintain any database of individual user data, billing information, or personal records.

Server access logs are retained for up to 30 days for security and performance monitoring, then automatically overwritten.

Your Rights

As a visitor to this site, you have the right to:

  • Access — You can request details of what data this site holds about you. Given that we do not collect personally identifiable information, this would typically be limited to confirming that no such data exists in our systems.
  • Deletion — You can request deletion of any data associated with your visit. For analytics data, this can be accomplished by opting out of Google Analytics tracking through Google’s browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
  • Cookie withdrawal — You can withdraw consent for non-essential cookies at any time by clearing cookies in your browser settings and disabling them for this domain.
  • Complaint — If you believe your data has been handled incorrectly, you have the right to raise a complaint with the relevant data protection authority in your jurisdiction.

If you believe a child has provided personal information through this site, contact us at the email address below and we will take immediate steps to delete that information.

Security

This website uses HTTPS encryption on all pages, meaning data transmitted between your browser and our server is encrypted in transit. We do not store financial information, passwords, or sensitive personal data on our systems.

We take reasonable technical measures to protect the site and its users, but no website can guarantee absolute security. If you discover a security vulnerability on this site, please notify us immediately through our contact page.
